ARTISTIC FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
As Artists,namely---poets; its is imperative that we all understand that
'the freedom of expression' is non-negotiable, in that, as artists 'WE UNDERSTAND THAT OUR WORKS MUST BE DONE WITH TASTE; AND AS LONG AS YOU KEEP THAT AS THE PARAMETER---THEN, WE AS ARTISTS--POETS; ARE FREE TO CREATE WHATSOEVER WE SO DESIRE'...now, that being said; it is also crucial that all artists join together in solidarity in the 'RIGHT FOR ARTISTIC FREEDOM AS PART OF THE PACKAGE'...and for further elaboration,so as to forestall any riotous actions(which i do not endorse, nor advocate---those methods are passe')But rather, as artists, we must take our writings/works seriously, and demand to be treated with serious respect and dignity; and most important of all: OUR WORKS SHOULD BE DONE WITH TASTE OR AS TACTFULLY AS POSSIBLE;however, that doesn't preclude artistic freedom;in that, it should motivate us to create pieces that can both address the cold-hard 'realities' of this crazy world we live in...and also, be a positive element of enlightenment or a 'step of HOPE'...so, i'd like to start a discussion in this regard...and begin by asking all my fellow Poets: How important is artistic freedom of expression to you?
