ok...yeah this is weird for me to explain.
but ill break it down as best as possible
I am mostly hip-hop/metal/rock orientated
and i remember those day's when hip-hop was veiwed as "bad" music from what the lyrics influenced, and how metal/rock was the "devils music"
and ive noticed today's radio doesnt really promote a view other than club bangers, and ofcourse heartbreak songs(but thats besides point)
and i feel that club bangers have no theme other than, lets say blaming on the alcohol. but what happened to showing how life is tough at the lower end of the pyrimad; such as nas had done.
if we are all caught up with music like top 40 then people will listen and say they like it.
just like when politicians say something we are automatically there to believe them.
if they play a song on the radio and it is played often, well i feel people are automatically going to like it, "oh did you hear that song by lil wayne, that song is crack"<--- (example), but in my opinion that song would be trash by what it promotes and/or the lyrics recited on the track.
but people will like it.
now if the radio station has control of what is played, imagine what the gov't has control over.
now it may seem that the two are far apart, but there is that small seed.
that small seed is influence. if the gov't has influence on our ideals just like radio stations have influence on what we listen to then its sad to say
but we are nothing more than mindless plankton following a current being sent adrift to what is here, what is heard, and what is seen.
