The Bible (state your opinion/beliefs)
to start it off... lets say a bible was really written at a point; if so than it was likely to have been who knows how long ago, i'm talking about far back in time. Over the years i guess it was being passed on "to spread the word of the most high" but at the same time i think that this thing we call the bible has been tampered with causing a person such as myself to find one word thats in it hard to believe...
My reason being is that i decided to look at this as a game of Telephone, for those of you who aren't familiar with this game; it's simple , you line up 20 people an tell the first person something, have them pass it on to the next and by the time what you said reaches the last person; you see if it's the same thing you said to the first person, 99.9% of the times its never the same thing.
Okay so now you might be saying to yourself, wait a minute how could this be if the bible consist of prophecys; a good example would be how the bible spoke of the 9/11 attack and conveyed it as a metaphor..
well this is where my belief becomes interesting, i think throughout the years of this book getting re-written, the last time it was re written who ever did it was obviously smart due to the fact that if you live the way the bible tells you to live life i guess you're likely to be prosperous but back to my point with the prophecy thing, i believe they're manipulating the book an events that are spoken about inside of it causing the public (us) to think/believe/feel or say that the bible is real..

lol nooooooo, the government could care less bout the bible plus the bible dosn't say anything bout 911 that's Nostradamus who made the bad good and the good bad, they don't want you to believe in the bible most government people in America is against it....

I know that god wrote the bible. Of course he inspired 40 men to write it by holy spirit. And a true believer will know that god had done everything to keep the bible the same it was since it was written. Yes there are different versions but its all the same meaning. And no god will not let man manipulate the bible to make us believe it. And i agree with Chris about the government not caring about the bible. We are imperfect humans so of course the game of telephone will not be a point of comparison to an almighty god who is perfect. And he is keeping the bible the same.

Yes but it is god who is protecting the bible. It belongs to him, so no comparison.. He will not let that happen. I know exactly what I meant by that. No offence intended..

this is Jesus speaking when he gives the model prayer that we all know.. if its Jesus saying "You must pray like this: Our Father in the heavens".. then i would say jesus is the son of god.. because if he was god wouldint he say, "pray like this to me"?

Did you know most parts of the bible is rewritten a thousend times and some parts are demolished because they were inapproprate, but were of the closest friends of Jesus? Im a Christian and i believe in some of the stories, but i think most of them are ''stories' that tell right from wrong. Yeah i think the bible is manipulated with too, probably by the pope and stuff, but the important thing is to know that you know what's rights and what's wrong.

Government and the bible-religion are not always kept separate, though they should be. Why do the words 'under god' apear in the pledge of allegiance? I'm a buddhist, so I don't pledge to god, but I should get to say the pledge to my country without having to leave a line out.
I think that the bible was written a long time ago by some guy as a fictional story, then people started taking it seriously. I can't imagine going from no religion to believing in god, it's just mind boggling. Over the years it probably evolved into something completely different from what it was then, in response to your telephone theory.

'god will not let man manipulate the bible to make us believe it', how could this quote be true when god gave humans free will? surely if we truely had free will as the 'bible' says then wecould do what ever we wanted to as we have the free will to write what ever we wanted in the bible. What are your thoughts on this?
