United World Poets is thinking about shutting down.
That's awful because they have one of the best poetry sites around.
I became very sad when I read that UWP may end, I've seen better days.
United World Poets has been a fantastic website and they deserve our praise.

If UWP shuts down, we'll lose awesome writers, two of which are ekphill and SNP.
I hope they can continue somehow and I'm sure that many writers agree.
It was very sad and distressing when I read about this tonight.
If they do shut down, I want everybody to know that I loved their website.

My Reality

Dancing a dream of dragon's wings,

Soaring above the sea,

Whiling away hours on end,

Needing my love to be with me.

Casting my net far and wide,

Searching the sky above,

Looking under mushroom caps,

Awaiting the wings of a dove.

Swallows fly and crickets sing,

The breeze becons to me,

I see him there and then he's gone,

Is my lover haunting me?

Morning comes with the sky laughing purple,

All ashes turn to dust,

Pixies fade into the night,

As all my dreams must.

people should try to be nice,

but they dont try because they dont care,

if you go home and cry yourself out,

because they dont see what they do to you,

until you kill yourself.

Behind The Poem:

i always get bullied at school by people on my bus. it hurts but i know they dont know whats going through my head everyday. i have adhd and people bully me about that but most of the people who bully me have adhd. what they dont relize that i have to go home to my little sister gabby saying allyssa are u ok because i have tears in my eyes because i have been cring on the bus.

Temptation

He kissed her on the forehead and said goodnight

Little did he know, she could no longer put up the fight

Her feelings for him were so hard to tame

And the only thing she could do was take all the blame

She never imagined it all coming to this

Never thought he would bring her such pure bliss

One simple kiss is all it would take

But he’d already become her favorite mistake

Two weeks together, that’s all they had left

Deep in her heart, her love for him would always be kept

He came and he went, just like that

She never quite knew if she’d ever get him back

Her life had now been filled with her own worst fears

The reality of losing him constantly brought her to tears

She never imagined being caught in this much pain

In her heart, she knew she’d never be the same

Oh, she hated how he had to leave; it only made her cry

It seemed like yesterday, but the days had flown by

The time had come for him to completely forget

Because, unfortunately, their sun had already set

You beat up your girlfriend because you are a brute.
I tried to send you to jail but your girl won't prosecute.
I'm a preacher but I won't marry the two of you.
If I did that, it would be a very evil thing to do.

It was a sad day when she agreed to be your wife.
I will not help you to destroy that poor girl's life.
Besides physically abusing her, you verbally abuse her as well.
How dare you expect me to help you make her life a living hell!

It makes me very angry when I see her battered and bruised.
I begged her to stay at my house but sadly, she refused.
Your girl is a fine lady who I've known for many years.
It breaks my heart when you make her burst into tears.

You will go to other preachers but I'll tell them all about you.
And when I do that, they'll refuse to perform the ceremony too.
I'll make your girl see the truth if it's the last thing that I do.
I'm a servant of the Lord and I'll always protect her from you.

Behind The Poem:

It can be read normally from left to right, or can be read by reading the words to the left of the commas/reading the words right of the commas (i.e. "Empty of anything possessing meaning..."). I was just feeling pretty empty at the time i wrote this. So much was going on in my life that my emotions sort of just shut down for a little while.

In Divorce's Wake

In solitude, I search for will

To mend my soul, and shed the chill

Of broken love; the loss, and fears

I taste this day- with salty tears.

Memories - are but a foe

That drags my fractured spirit slow

My children’s voices cast no balm

I search for hope, through prayer or psalm.

For only light of each day new

With all its promise, fresh and true

Can lead me to that precious spark

That draws in hope, and lights the dark.

My friend is time; its patient will

Each passing day make dull the nil

That left me empty - duped of trust

A sunlit day precedes the dusk.

The dusk is tired; a weary yawn.

My slumber calms until the dawn

I wake enslaved in pain’s full scope

This new day born- I ache for hope.

Father Days Part 2

This day comes around once a year

Always makes me sad and gloomy

Thinking about you and missing you hurt so much

I am always reminded today that your not with me

It been years yet still it hurts

I still feel empty and get depressed

I just hope this day hurry up and ends.

Today Is a day to honor our dads

But I cant sit down and talk to you

All I have are past memories

That feel like they been frozen for years

And I only wish I could have one moment

To tell you how much I love you right to your face

instead of s having to say it to your grave.

My heart is sore and crying

My eyes watery seeing all these happy families

Always make me wonder why that couldn’t be me

Why were you taken away from me

I can’t change the past no matter how much I want too

So I will just say today is torture to me

Leaving me feeling empty and incomplete

But it is still your day father

So if you are hearing me

Happy father day, I love you now and forever

Till the end of days and even after, this will never ever change.

Father Day

Today is father day

It is all about reminiscing

On how amazing dads we have

Telling them how much we care

And appreciate them for everything they do

Without them we would probably be lost and confused.

Dad I can no longer talk to you

No longer see your face

All I have is pictures and my memory of you

But today is still for you

You might not be flesh and blood

But you’re still alive within my heart.

I hope you have your arm wrapped around me

And you watch over me daily

Because I still need you from time to time

You were an amazing father

Not always compassionate or nice

But still a role model for me to look up too

You were always there whenever I needed you the most.

May you be truly blessed in heaven

Filled with joy and happiness

I get sad sometimes, not having you here

But I will be okay, for I know I’ll see you again one day

hug you tightly with all my strength and never let you go

I just wanted to tell you happy father day

Raindrops...

drop like bombs from the sky.....

1938... total terror... mass panic...

That's how it looks down below... as the raindrops fall on the ants below my feet...

retreating into their little den...

I have no love to give..... and I have none waiting....

I have no shelter for the rain....

No compassion from the hunter...

Just a drone ant that gets swept away in the current of tears that fall from the sky...

Easily replaced... and forgotten...

This grey existence I lead.....

As a slave to society....

A body.... absent of soul and thought...

Kept dumb by the social alpha group...

But that's just a mask...

When i get home... i lower my mask...

And there's a broken man..

With broken hands....

That hold nothing.....

A face devoid of expression....

I watch my life go by like grains of sand....

I see all my efforts pile on a mound.... but like loose sand... it has no value... no meaning and no use...

I don't recognize my family...

I don't recognize my wife... nor my children....

Nor do i have the urge to give them a future... I had none of my own...

I see raindrops sweep by....

I close my eyes and melt...

Becoming one with the tears...

that I held back for so long.........

Im scared to take another breath

The man tells me to open the register

An all i feel is the coldness of the gun...such a blur

Two shots rang out

I now lay here motionless with no doubt

But then i see the pool of blood that is so red
