COLORS OF MY LIFE!

I wish I could paint you a picture

For every moment that’s passed me by

A fine detailed collage of my knowledge

On an endless canvas I'd hang in the sky

I'd emphasize every saddened thought

With the darkest blue you'd ever seen

And then any jealous mischief followed

With the shades beneath emerald green

Every last trace of anger would drip

Crimson red like the blood in my veins

Thus un-enabling me to wipe the slate clean

Because split blood guarantees stains

I would cut an odd shaped chunk out

To represent every time I've been alone

And add a variety of colored strings

For all the broken hearts I have sewn

Then I will let the shadows of the emerald

And the very darkest shades of royal blue

Pour down into the sporadic shaped voids

Revealing all that could have been true

Next I would cut my art work into pieces

For all the times I've felt confused

And I'd throw a few puzzle pieces away

Representing the times I've been used

Then I would shift a piece to the back

To show all the promises that were broken

And I'd toss a few splashes of paint thinner

Which altered the truth of words spoken

I'd stand in front of my finish work

That was drenched with heart ache and pain

And I'd realize a project this creative

Is better than if it were still plain
