Loyal Holloweeners

Toddlers are loyal Holloweeners,
They don't care if their folks are
getting taken to the "Cleaners",
primarily because they are too young
to understand, and secondly, because
it is just too difficult for them to
resist candy dangling in anyone's hands,

They would brave witches and ogres to
get to lollies and snickers,
Never minding the sensibilities of their
bickering older brothers and sisters,
who choose to boycott the event to make clear,
and precise statements,

All the little tykes want to do, is roam
around the neighborhood chuckling when adults
say Boo!

The haunted houses in their glory rarely gives
them a scare, because they know behind the most
decrepid of withches, lurks personalities that
really care,

The older the persons they visit,
the snacks become healthier,
but they always put on their best behaviors
and most charming displays, hoping to appeal to
the old codgers' hearts in order to receive tons
of milky ways.
