Rain
The sky holds secrets
clouded and forgotten
worn with wind and frozen with the cold
but when the night falls, tears of joy come falling
falling to the soft and gentle earth
from the freezing cold they plummet
down down down until they break
icy shells that crack in two
frozen tears pure white in hue
streaming streaming from the sky
dreaming dreaming know not why
sighing sighing but too shy
falling falling from a lie
Where to? just down
Where from? above
Why here? to be
Why go? to love
Why fall? to know
Why rise? to fall
Why dream? to rise
Why die? to live
of dreaming
Chauffeur, go faster
slower
safer
hit the brakes – no!
turn the wheel
darker
lighter
spaceship
penguins
rain
Past the avenues of meaning
Through the synonyms of wealth
Goodbye streets of history
Farewell glaring city I might
scream
for as I leave the sky’s relentless cry
I hit the earth
and weep.
