Tomorrow

What if you died today
Leaving behind family and friends in sorrow?
What becomes of your dreams for the future?
No, you are not promised tomorrow.

Yesterday has gone away
Tomorrow is a dream
And we have only today

Everyday should be lived to the fullest
Tasting the riches of life and taking time to smell the flowers
For tomorrow is not promised
And we draw closer to Death each hour

Did I say I love you?
Did I forget to give you a kiss?
In the twinkling of an eye, you are gone forever

I yelled at you and stalked away in anger,
Forgetting the fond memories of our past
I turned around to say "I'm sorry"
But Death snatched you away all too fast

Too quickly Death takes away a loved one
And we are unable to say a final good-bye
We can no longer say "I love you"
And hear them likewise reply

The clock is ticking and every minute counts
Each heartbeat gets slower until it stops at last
Death wins another battle
And you become a memory of the past

What if you died today
Leaving behind family and friends in sorrow?
What becomes of your dreams for the future?
No, you are not promised tomorrow.
