I know what poetry does for me. It allows me to express myself and be myself. To be myself without the presence of judgement. Poetry is the illuminator of my soul; the rhythm that flows to the beat of my life.I don't know what I would do if poetry never existed! So, since you know what it does for me; I wanna know...what does it do for you? This post may be a bit generic, but I am very very interested in knowing what everyone is feeling.Hope to hear from you guys soon :)

I feel the same way. Poetry is great and has no limits.

Poetry is an expession of oneself, I feel it, breathe it, an see it, poetry is my life, makes me relax an happy, I enjoy what I write..

That's the same way how I see it. Poetry is my life, my past, and how I see in life. With poetry I only write on things I know. Things I've lived through seen and see. But I don't write lies. I keep it 100 just like I do in my life day to day. No other form of writing can do what poetry does. Not music, screenplays or anything else.

poetry for me is whatever is on my mind. if its anger, depression, true feelings, how i see the world, how someone else thats close to me sees the world. whatever it may be.. i keep it real and i also like to have fantasy play its part. I usually write what I feel especially if somethings been on my mind for a few days.. thats what poetry does for me.

That's very good. Some people don't realize how healthy writing can be for your mind. Thanks for sharing :)

writing clears my head. being alone with your own thoughts and memories for to long makes it hard to see.
reading other peoples words lets me know that i might not be alone, that someone else is living, thinking or dreaming the same as me.
poetry gives me peace and knowledge, strength and inspiration

Poetry, is my outlet... It allows me to defrag my thoughts in ways that surprise myself at times... I started to write when i was 14 years old... I was at a point in my life where I felt alone, confused, helpless, and angry...This art form is pretty much my therapy, and it allows me to connect with others on an emotional level... When I read others poetry, I can sometimes be analytical. But, I love getting the chills behind my neck when reading a piece that I can connect with... Oooo poeTRY.... one love

I think that's great that you've been writing since you were 14.And yes I feel the same way about reading others' poetry. I love connecting with others through words with emotion...It's a great thing.Hope all is well with you...Peace :)

Poetry is my everything. It helps me uncloud my thoughts, and maintain a positive outlook on life. Evn though my poems range from bright and happy to dark and depressing, my poems connect with people and I love nothing more than finding a personal connection with my fellow people... besides writing. Poetry is my outlet, my muse, and my life force
