The box
In my closet between my socks..
I keep a little gilded box.
During the sleepless nights I like to watch and reflect..
How pictures and memories connect.
Like piecing together the jigsaws of a puzzle...
Into a picture perfect...
Open the lid and begin from the start,
here's a picture, the moment she conquered my heart.
Watch her raven hair wave between the cherryblossoms.. and the twisted branches.
On to the next memory...
A moment of pure extacy
This scrap of paper drawing two shadows that embrace one another.
How their legs fold around like a grapevine...
Their hands becoming the pillars on which their temples stand, pushing against each other.
How hair flows together into a violet ocean vibrant with life...
No time to linger, on to the next treasure
As i watch these black and white tinted pictures, my heart beats with pleasure.
I see my summer queen dressed in garlands of sunshine and feathers..
Like a majestic swan that floats tranquilly on the lake of my dreams..
There she is on bare feet, sitting on a pier..
Her feet gently splashing in the water...
She lifts up her feet, the water gently drops from her heel and toes, crystal raindrops that clash silently on the fragile surface of the lake.
Gently she lowers her summerdress, descending into the deep blue...
Her white skin looks like a pearl hidden in the ocean waters.
Her hair descends slowly into the water..
It comes to life like tendrils and then unfolding like a paper into a gallant star...
A curtain...
She lays down into the cradle.. as the ocean lifts up her body and keeps her in balance with the surface..
Her milkwhite breast bathes in cold moonlight... and her face searches the skies.
And I watch from underneath the water.. in awe i stand, anchored to your feet.
I stick like a shadow to you.... Mimicking every move
Watching the movement of your lips as they utter poetry of waterfalls.
As you lift your fragile limbs from the water, swimming towards the shore, your waves carry me.
But i drift off in memories... you may want to know this last relic...
A perfumed letter, decorated in rosepetals, white, blue and red.
So far all has been fun and pleasure but now comes a moment more grim.
For this letter I shall now read to you.
"My dearest"
" As the scent of roses now carries you into an utopia with just the two of us..."
" I wish to speak to you, my final words"
" Let these moments not be filled with sorrow and tears for that is not how I wish to be remembered"
" I want to thank you for all these memories you gave me that now soothe my body and soul in their final moments"
" Please, I can barely write but I want to give you my last request"
"Take my box, the one between my socks, put three of your most precious moments of me into the box"
" Then fold this letter and put it at the bottom, when you think of me, open the box and relive the memories of me"
" It's important that you keep the letter down at the bottom, because should you drift too much into the past... this letter will help you back to reality."
"I don't want you to linger too much in the past of me... but sometimes a small glimpse might give you comfort through the lonely days"
"They have unplugged the sedative, my dear."
"I'm sorry this has to be by letter but...."
"Goodbye"
" We will see each other again, in our wonderous Utopia."
Now you have gazed into my box of memories...
And now I must ask you to leave...
For this burden...
Is only mine to grieve.

I honestly thought when I was reading this, that it was just going to be an attempt at a sad love poem, but then, you added the letter(I'm a sucker for letters, whatever the content) took it to a whole new level, pulled the poem perfectly together!
