An Artist Writes

PrintPrint

What story did the artists brush write?
What do the lines in the weathered face tell?
The luster is gone, garments are not bright.
The smile tells you that all is well.

The active children are happy at play,
It is a picture on canvas to tell,
They are without a care of the day.
Do not worry because all is well.

A fruit pie is cooling in the window.
Grandma is dusting flour from her apron.
Sister is practicing the piano.
The artists brush still writes on.

What do the September trees write?
There was lush growth of long summer days.
Trees are dressed in brilliant colors bright.
While the artists brush records their say.

There are gorgeous specimens in the wild.
The artist views and studies awhile.
Their actions are recorded in art.
It preserves how they play their part.

Art may be the writing of earths ways.
It records the slow process of many days.
It displays the patience of natures way.
The artist writes a recoud, art has its way.

Behind The Poem:

Original paintings have recorded many things and is a history in itself.
