Forever

Forever is only a matter of time
While a day lasts forever and more.
I will wait for you, love, forever in time,
To the end of forever’s dead war.

And one day we’ll see our flowers again
Their petals of whiter than light.
They will be waiting and waving in wind
In the valley of forever’s delight.

Now soldiers will march through the valley by day
And sleep in the valley by night.
And sometimes they’ll fight in their battles and bleed
On the petals of whiter than white.

And I shall return to the valley and weep
For you are forever no more.
And I shall lament over red on pure white
And pray for an end to the war.

The seasons will change and our flowers will grow
And the blood will eventually drain.
You, though, my love, are gone from the world
And our flowers are all that remain

I love this poem.

I love this poem. Bittersweet:

The seasons will change and our flowers will grow
And the blood will eventually drain.
You, though, my love, are gone from the world
And our flowers are all that remain

These lines are both beautiful and haunting at the same time. Good stuff.
