I, II, III, IV

In a dream state came to me
A revelation great.
Four prophesies will be unveiled
Concerning our world’s fate.

The first unleashed
Upon the land
All beings evil, wild,
In the second, there I stand,

Amongst young orphans
Wild-eyed, scared,
Facing quite a primal beast
But those are gone, who of them cared.

The third of plagues
Affected all:
I lost my sight,
Was left to fall.

And as I waited
In the dark
No trouble came,
No added spark.

And so the end of prophesies
Simply never came.
The world went on, from dusk to dawn,
We played the endless game.

When I awoke, the day had come
A bright and cheery start,
And though I tried, I couldn’t shake
The feeling in my heart.

The terror and the dread,
Along with fear of premonition
That my dreams forsook
Left me buried in demolition.

I sat ruined, waiting, still,
For the dread event.
Day and day, and week and week,
Living life it did prevent.

So still I sit and watch,
The apocalypse await,
But it never does arrive,
Leaving me its willing bait.
