A Lost Promise

She isnt the way she used to be
she was happier and playful as you can see;
Remembering her father words, and what was said
As her mother cradled her up and laid her to bed;
she will someday be a lady with a life of her own
With someone to love her as her mother have shown;
her mother will always be here to lend a hand
To help her and guide her when she don't understand;
Somehow she believed her mother words she would see
a father she would never speak of and knew he wasnt the father he promised to be;
Instead in her heart he was a man that did not care
her mother was my father because he was never there;
she often cry herself to sleep
her fathers love was not hers to keep;
shes not trying to miss her father or think of him at all
Not a single hug or one last goodbye;
He is now a man free to roam
Not worrying of his family or coming home;
He walked out of her life and never turned her way
but one day she would say Oh why daddy why didn't you stay?
