Our Constitution

Our Constitution which we hold so dear
That soldiers have paid for times over
Fighting across the world without fear
With the fierceness of a jealous lover

Great Law of the Land ever so abused
By scoundrels without hint of remorse
Who even the bowels of Hell has refused
Just threw the bastards out by force!

What grievous event or horrid fraud
Can bring about such temptation
To let politicians praise and laud
Those who destroy the Law of our Nation?

We the People still love for what you stand
It does not matter what the vipers say.
Outdated? No! You are still just grand!
As glorious today as yesterday.

Keep shining and showing all the world
What love and Freedom can do when
Given such a perfect, glistening pearl
God preserve you and keep you well, Amen!

Thank you for your kind

Thank you for your kind words. This poem is not one of my better ones probably because I was so damn angry at the time I wrote it. lol
