We can start by a few messages
They’ll only have a few words
It could be like opening a cage
With a 100,000 birds

The messages could say
How life’s going on
No one-a-day obligation
Like Tatum's Dear John

Won’t fake interest in science
To try and impress you
I’ll keep the messages simple
You could do the same too

After the initial messages
If there’s any comfort at all
I could give you my number
You could make the 1st call

We could arrange times
To speak for a while
I could hear your voice
And picture your smile

Up until this point
If we’re getting along fine
I’d propose we meet
For a dinner at nine

We’ll get friends along
And go to Bertsy’s then
A nice evening for all
Home at eleven

We could do this a few times
To know each other more
I’ll take care of you and
Drop you to your door

I’ve thought a little more
But will hold-off a bit
We’ll cross that bridge
When we come to it

I’ve made one big assumption
That you’ll agree all the way
But if you’re not happy
Ask me to try another day

If you don’t agree with this
Then please say so
Ask me to never contact you
And I promise I’ll go

I’d like to finally say
I’d like to meet you once
To see you in person
