Dust clouds, the hatred, anger rolls closer
Consuming the selfless and heroic
The innocent average ones in pursuit
Avenues, twisted metal and busted concrete
Voice of a giant, hideous behemoth we flee
Explosions of fanatical laughter
Finally heard, the fabric of sanity unravels
Our earth pounds and quakes
Crumbling, it plummets, greatest fright
A stain on history's elegant gown
It spreads, fabric crimson red
A call heard nation wide, blood for blood
They shout toward the sky
A world in flames, drastic changes
Her face marked with craters
Deal in lead, rockets in flight
Caste first into the storm
The wounds still sore, immobile
Index fingers point east and west
The streets filled with the shaken and traumatized
Head to toe, the ashes of spite
A state of shock, knee's locked
Mouths wide open, they fall face first
Eye glisten, hearts explode
Waves of empathy, humanity in control
He leads through the darkest nights
Our sorrowful days
Roses sprout from the concrete
The rain lets up, fading away
Angels descending, broken battered taken up
Fly away toward the light, far away from here
Fears so ugly, eradicated
Dust washed clean, advance through the rays of promise
But never, let them slip your mind
