The Way It Is (freestyle poem)

I’m goin to die in this life
I just hope that when I go I leave behind some kids and a wife
These days are too short
But pain is too long
If it ain’t gospel music I’m hearin sin in every song
My mama says her legs hurt
Words like that let’s me know she won’t be here forever long
I keep my distance from my niggas
Because when I’m with them I’m always doin wrong
My heart is like stone and one day my soul will fly away
These white people always talkin to me like I’m stupid
So I have to shield my pride away
If I died today
Only ten percent of the people I knew may come to my grave
And if the rain hits you can minus that by five percent

You work reminds me of hip hop when it was pure, poetic, and had a message. I loved it.
