What inspires you to write?

Whether it be a person, a fellow poet, a quote from a novel, or a circumstance that happened in your life what or who inspires you to write poetry?
Like for me it's an emotional appeal, almost like something's bottled up that I need to express and other times I hear another poet's piece and have to scribble words down but I'm more interested in what you gets you all writing.
What inspires you and why?

Writing is the most effective way for me to express exactly what I am feeling. Verbal communication allows me to hold back which is no good in most cases. Writing takes me to a place where I feel completely serene and balanced. A special place for me to create life as I want it to be; an escape when I need it most. Writing helps me relieve tension that continues to build each day because "real life" is stressful. My written creations are almost always based on what I am feeling at the moment.
writting to me opens up my mind, and lets me write deep from my heart, weither it's a dark thought, or a love poem, it express to myslfe, or to others how i feel, or what i felt at that point of time, i belive one should not fear to hold back on ones thoughts, for tomrrow we may not be able to express on how we feel..
What inspire me to write my own poems is my mother. I've been watching her write a lot of poetry when I was a child. She inspired me to write my own poems. So, this poetry-writing tradition is passed on from mother to son. That's what inspired me to write my own poems.
Life inspires me to write... whether it's something I am feeling, or something that has happened in the past.
Almost all of my poetry is regarding something in my life or for someone else
Spoken words are sometimes hard to say, in writing... no one talks back, and you are heard, loud and clear!
I write to express myself. I don't like letting other people know how i feel. It makes the pain of losing everything i once had, vanish just a little.
