A day in September

I awaken anew;
from a sleep that I once knew.
As home and reality;
cuz my dreams were waiting on me.
So I had to awake;
face what's on my plate.
Answer my calling;
finally stop stalling.
To act like I know I will always win;
even if, no when, I slip and sin.
It’s all covered in His grace;
with mercy and faithfulness He won my race.
And ransomed my life;
though often filled with strife.
I still can be my best;
and live apart from the rest.
Surrounded in love all around;
feet planted firmly in fertile ground.
Cuz a man gave His life so I could live mine;
making mistakes, fucking up all the time.
Led by His Spirit so I would know;
everything and everyone are in His control.
Grandparents taught the Words to say;
trust in God you will be okay.
Regardless of what it looks like still believe;
that God has a plan to set us all free.
Free from the rules and regulations of sin;
free to a life full of abundant living.
Instead of hindrance with our ideas;
getting off of ours and onto His.
Surrendering in repentance that we need His hand;
to bring peace and prosperity to the land.
Hopefully tomorrow won’t be too late;
today is a great day to change our fate.
