Chocolate Kisses of Life

Heart is racing,
Sweaty palms,
Mind is spacing,
Chronic signs of missing you.
Trying in vain to hold,
The chocolate kisses of life in my hands,
But it's all a waste,
As they just jump back out so bold,
Slipping away like the sand
Of time.
A few sweet nights,
For decades of pain,
And I'd just as soon,
Jump into your arms again.
You cannot mean to hurt me,
Cannot strive to make me cry,
But only ever succeed,
In loving me then making me wish to die.
