Stranger

They say a promise is a comfort to a fool
Is that what you consider your only seed
Who loves and adores you
Constantly craves your attention
That you refuse to give
So many broken promises
I'm coming to see you
Not a surprise, you never did
You are a lier and quite frankly a cheater
You have time and money to share
And supports your immediate family
But when it comes to your only kid
All you have are excuses
You don't have either to spare

Keep on being spiteful and neglectful
Believe me you will be regretful
You are hurting no one but an innocent child
She didn't make an agreement to be apart of this world
You help to create this love
So be a man about it and accept your responsibility
No kisses, no hugs
Yet still this child adores you so much
No coming around, yet still she falls a-sleep by the window
I assumed she got jaded looking out for you
Someone can substitute for you
And provide everything that money can purchase
But they can't supply the love and attention
That she desperately needs from you

Woke up this morning looking extremely sad
Grandma asked, "what happened to you?"
It's only a pity she didn't know
that man disappointed you again
Keep on making empty promises
Keep on messing with emotions
Keep on building false hope
Keep on rejecting an innocent blood, heart, and love
The time will come when you will be seeking
And your only seed won't be around
You have been nothing but a respectful stranger
That's what it feels and looks like
And in the latter days, I pray that at least
You will be a stranger your only seed
will associate with and show some respect
