Under The Influence
Fighting back droplets of salty gummi bears,
Confusion like fusion smoothies--
A dose of vitamin love intermingled
With an awkward hug.
(Who knew?)
Heart full of snickers-- what a big appetite
Not the ideal sugary mix
Add eggs, milk, chocolate chips and a phantom kiss-- none of it tastes the same.
Is it even worth it to complain?
Feeling foolish as my butter cup dreams were dismissed.
At the end what does it even matter?
Confectionary fantasizes breed
Epic realities.
(Will we ever be?)
At the end what does it even matter?
It matters to me.

My favorite candy just happens to be...gummi bears! lol That's what's so cool about poetry as you can write about anything and creatively use metaphors, imagery to illustrate your thoughts. I wrote this poem after an awkward encounter and wasn't feelng candy-go-lucky haha no pun intended.
