Blessing

A black woman I am and very proud to be
Not because of internal and external beauties
But the opportunities of love, life, happiness
And all the other possibilities in this world that interests me
I can't help but smile and thank God for creating me
Without Him there is no desire to be
So I make it my duty to pray and seek Him always
Sometimes my requests are granted instantly
or I awaits Him patiently
No matter how long it takes
He always comes through with a blessing
I decline to be a fool or stray from
His tender love and clemency
I have to humble my spirit, remain faithful,
Live my life with integrity, stay connected
And heavily concentrated on the Most High God
I woke up this morning
It wasn't because of my strength
or the forces surrounding me
You are my strong tower
The source of my joy and strength
My reason for living and obeying
You blessed me with creativity and understanding
Lord, You have and will always be a blessing to me
